The Department of Education, Taipei City Government has one commissioner hired by the mayor to oversee general department affairs and to supervise department staff and two deputy commissioners to assist in department affairs. The Department also has a chief secretary, four senior specialists, 10 divisions, 6 offices and 5 Affiliated Institutions. The Education Bureau has 251 schools, including 1 university, 28 senior high schools, 7 vocational High Schools, 4 special education schools, 58 junior High Schools, 139 elementary schools and 14 preschools.
